As Almond Studio is based in South East London, let’s start on our doorstep. There are some great local shops to buy fabric and haberdashery products. There are also many markets in South London where you can find a selection of fabrics stalls and shops: East Street, Deptford, Peckham and Brixton to name a few!

Sewing & Craft Superstore

A lovely sewing and craft shop only a few minutes walk away from Tooting Bec station. They have a great range of fabrics and haberdashery products, as well as craft supplies. They also sell sewing and embroidery machines as well as sewing patterns.

Maria Sammur opened her independent sewing shop in August 2016. Maria wanted to introduce her vibrant colours and unique designs to the trendy and popular Lordship Lane area, rising quickly as one of the best haberdashery shops in London.

Lewisham and Deptford Sewing Machines

This isn’t a fabric or haberdashery shop, but a great place to purchase domestic or industrial sewing machines. They have great prices and are very knowledgeable about all types of machines. They offer repairs and servicing so if you are having any problems with your machine they can help.
Hidden in the side roads of Oxford Street, you’ll find an assortment of fabric & haberdashery shops. They offer beautiful and unique fabrics and trimmings. You’ll often find fashion students and design teams here doing in depth fabric research, finding the perfect material for their collections.On the pricier side, these shops may just serve as some great inspiration, but if you’re looking for a collection high-quality and curated fabrics and trimmings, these are the shops you’ll want to explore.

Located near Marylebourne, A luxury fabric shop with over 60 years history! Joel and Son Fabric stock a wide range of beautiful fabrics and trimmings on their website, and deliver worldwide. They also hold a Royal Warrant from H.M.Queen Elizabeth!
On the third floor of the Tudor-revival building near Oxford Circus is a colourful wonderland of patterned fabrics. Liberty’s iconic fabric line is immediately recognisable and the soft tana lawn cottons and silks are perfect for dressmakers and sewers far and wide. We’ve been excited to hear about the recent addition of the Merchant and Mills Concession selling their stylish fabrics, patterns and notions.

Barnett Lawson Trimmings

VV Rouleaux can be found just off Marylebone High Street and walking through the doors is like entering a sweet shop! Full of ribbons and stylish trimmings for every occasion. Find inspiration before you even walk through the door with the VV Inspire section of the website where founder Annabel Lewis shares ways of embellishing, adorning and creating with ribbons and trims.

West London’s Shepherd’s Bush is home to dozens of fabric and haberdashery shops, all on Goldhawk Road, just a short walk away from Shepherd’s Bush Station and Westfield London. Spend a morning browsing and touching hundred’s of fabrics!

There is a long list of the shops on Goldhawk Road, where you can find just about any fabric you are looking for. It does take a little bit more work going through all the fabrics, but you can absolutely find some great gems here.
Shepherd’s Bush Market

Mixed the fruit, veg and grocery stalls along Shepherd’s Bush Market, you can find fabric and haberdashery stalls with very affordable fabrics and trimmings. A short walk from Goldhawk Road, it’s worth a little look to see if you can find the perfect addition to your creative project.

Part of the Misan family, Misan West has a great selection of high-quality fabrics that you can find in their Central London stores at their clearance prices. They also have a section trimmings and haberdashery for sale.
In East London there are a few great places to get fabrics, trimmings and haberdashery products. Brick Lane is also home to a few other fabrics shops, so it’s worth a walk down there to have a look at what they have to offer.
Fabians Haberdashery Trimmings

Previously located in London’s Soho, Cloth House made the move to an online fabric shop in 2020. You can now shop all their beautiful fabrics online. Their Camden studio is available to visit by appointment only if you want to see their collection in person. Cloth House specialise in natural cottons, linens, Japanese fabric and vintage trimmings. They offer fabric samples on their website.
The Berwick Street Cloth Shop

Previously located in London’s Soho, along with the sister stores Broadwick Silks and The Silk Society, you can now shop all of Berwick Street Cloth Shop’s collection from their Wembley Warehouse. Find a vast range of luxury fabrics including silks, cottons, wools and more. You can also buy fabric from their online store.
